Izzie with a cherry

I was hoping to have my new Bella stamps that I ordered, so I could colour up something from last weeks release to share with you today, but nope, nothing has arrived yet.  It's not like I don't have anything to colour, I have mounds of Bella images that have never seen ink yet.

So with saying that, today I share with you Izzie with a cherry on top.  I think these Izzie's are so adorable, just love colouring them up.

I stamped Izzie on bella's bestest paper and colored her up with my Caran d'ache pencils.  Cut her out using square s/binder die, then sponged some versamagic sea breeze around the image while the die was still in place.  Layered this onto some light aqua cut out with my lacey square s/binder die.  The DP is by Dream Street Papers.  I off centered the layers this time around for something different, rather then center eveything.
Finished it up with some stitching on all layers, glitter, bow and a pretty pink prima flower.

Don't forget about the bellariffic challenge this friday.  The theme is
Valentines. Submit your entry to Emily via email by thursday night.

We are in for a major winter storm, suppose to start early tuesday morning right through to wednesday night! upwards of 25-30 cm of snow- roughly 12-15". I so want winter to be over!

Thanks for stopping by.

Flower Pot Girl

Since there is no challenge today, I thought I would share with you the image I coloured up for Emily to take to CHA from her latest release.

I have for you today Florence the flower pot girl.  Dontcha just love her, she is so darn cute!

She makes me think of a nice summer day, with the flowers all happening. Well that won't be for a while, since we are still in the dead of winter and it's snowing out! Although it is beautiful outside, very mild and the snow is so light and fluffy.

Okay back to the card.  I colored her with my Caran d'ache pencils and blended out with gamsol (oms).  Cut her out with a circle s/binder die and the layered her onto another piece of white cut with a scallop die.  The DP is by Echo Park called Walk in the Park.  Finishing touches - glitter, buttons, white flower lace, and some yellow gingham ribbon.

Next week's challenge is VALENTINES. I'm sure you will be making your loved ones a special card, so why not submit your card by emailing it to Emily by thursday evening for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Wendy!

Today is a special day! Yep it's Wendy Bond's  birthday, and to celebrate,  Karen  decided we should have a blog hop.

If you just came from Eva's blog you are in the right place.  But if not, you can start from the beginning to catch all the celebraton fun on Karen's blog.

To honor Wendy's birthday I decided it color up Peeptini from Stamping Bella.

Isnt' she just the cutest! I stamped her onto bella's bestest paper and colored her with my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol.  The DP paper I used is from Basic Grey Euphoria collection.  Love the purples! Used a couple of border punches - white scallop was and EK Success punch and the bottom green border was a Martha Stewart punch. Finished off with some glitter, and some prima flowers.

Hope your having a fabulous day Wendy! Happy birthday!!

Next up on the hop is Jen

Thanks for stopping by today, see you back here tomorrow with  a new card from Emily's release on Tuesday.

Just a little Patience

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  For myself, it was good. On saturday I stayed tucked away in my 'stamping haven' and made cards all day long - what could be better than that?

Today's card that I want to share with you is called Patience - a Mo image available at Stamping Bella.

As usual I stamped Patience on bella's bestest paper and colored with copics and pencils.  I chose some new papers from Basic Grey - Hopscotch as my color inspiration. Included with this stamp is the sentiment "I just love you" .  It was too long for where I wanted to place it, so stamped it off then cut it to fit. Finished up with some stitching around all layers. And I didn't even use glitter on this card!
I really like how this card turned out.  Hmmmm maybe I need to color up Tolerance (another Mo image).

Did you get a chance this past week to stop in at Bloggabella to check out all the sneak peaks?   Well today you can buy those stamps. Yep, Emily is doing her release today, before she goes off to CHA!

Also there is no challenge this friday, our next challenge will be on Feb 4 - theme - Valentines.  This will give you lots of time, so hope you can play along, then email your submission to Emily by thursday night - Feb 3.

Thanks for stopping by, till next time..

The Devil made me do it!

Well no, actually Jeanie made me do it! It's all her fault.  I love these Bugaboo images, if you haven't seen them you should check out  Jeanie's blog for her amazing cards.  They are fun to color and easy, which makes me happy. The nice thing about these stamps is that they are digital, and if your like me and you order something you want them now, not in a week or two. You just buy, download, print them off and they are ready to color.

So today I share with you a Stella image called Stupid Cupid.  I printed them on Papertrey Ink white card stock then colored her with Copics. She was cut out with an oval s/binder and then layered onto some bazzill pink c/s which was cut with an oval scallop s/binder die. DP paper is Basic Grey Blush. What I also like about these digi stamps, most of them come with a sentiment.  After printing it off I cut it up into 3 pieces so I could layer them on the card like I did.
Finished it off with some glitter on the heart, couple of red rhinestones and some ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by...

Violet Bittybloom

Welcome to another Bellariffic Friday challenge.  This week is was Free Form - meaning you could use any bella image, do any layout, and any embellishments etc you want. I hope you had a chance to play along.

For my card, I used another bittybloom image called Violet Bittybloom. I just love these cute little girls, and they are fun to color as well.

I started out by stamping Violet on bella's bestest paper and coloring her with my Caran d'ache pencils and blended out with gamsol.  I based my coloring from the DP by Memory Box.  The border punch is by Martha Stewart.  Finished her off with some pretty green satin ribbon (from Paula) and some glitter.

Next week there will be no challenge on friday because Emily is at CHA!!
She also is having another 'release' of some awesome stamps on Jan 25th!  If you want to see some sneak peaks - head over to Bloggabella to see what some of the babes have done.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Coffee Mug Girl.

Good morning!  Well we are mid way through the week.  I am totally mixed up on my days this week, I thought today was Tuesday (again), so I feel a bit behind this week.

Today's post will be short, I have to be to work in 1/2 hour!

I picked up this cutie - Chloe the Coffee Mug Girl when I was in Bellaland back in Nov. Since we are heading into Valentine's I thought she would work perfectly!

I stamped Chloe on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink and colored her up with my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol.
The DP paper I'm using is unknown, think I got it as a freebie when I purchased something online- not sure - anyhoo, thought it went well, nice bright colors, and has little hearts on it - perfect for Valentines. For the heart on her mug, I stamped off another one, colored it up and popped it on top of the main image using scrap dots, another item I purchased in Nov.
I did a double row of scallop border along the bottom, then finished it up with some bright pink ribbon, and some glossy accents on the heart.

Don't forget about our bellariffic friday challenge - it's FREE FORM - which means you can use any image  and any layout you choose.  Email your creation to Emily by thursday night and you will have a chance to win some bella bucks- everyone loves bella bucks, so come along and play!

Thanks for stopping by, see you on Friday.

Vintage Anniversary

For today's card I thought I revert back to the good ole stamping days. You know a bit of embossing, distressing, resisting and even using some vintage lace with pearls.

I have to tell you  I am CASING a card! OMG you say! Yes I saw this card on Hero Arts blog, and fell in love with it. The rules to CASE a card is you must change 3 things.  So I have changed the stamps, DP paper and embellishments!

The stamps I'm using today are all from Stamping Bella.  I started out stamping I 'AM" Script in versamark on cream c/s and embossing it with white e/p. Applied a light layer of versamagic sea breeze over the embossed script. Sponged antique linen and then tea dye distress inks around edges. Then stamped Solid Funky Grass over script using Memento bamboo leaves. Next layer was torn then sponged with tea dye.  The sentiment was stamped using versafine Sepia.

I made a rosette using the same dp paper which is from Bo Bunny, punched a couple of leaves using Martha Stewart leave punch.  Added some glitter and a tiny pearl to the rosette. I was going to use a piece of chiffon ribbon to tie around the bottom of the card but decided on this pretty lace intertwined with pearls.  I really like how this turned out.  How about you?

Till next time..... Pauline

Where there is Love..

there is Life! What a fabulous saying - it's from Verve!

I needed a couple of Valentine cards to take with me on Monday for my sale basket in Dresden,  so I pulled out Text Objects.

I started by cutting and embossing the heart on cream cardstock using  Spellbinders Nested Hearts. Leaving the die on I sponged some antique linen distress ink.  Next I stamped the verse. The DP paper I used for this card is from Cosmo Cricket called Circa 1934. This is such yummy paper! So for the layer behind the heart, I stamped repeatedly one of the verses from the same set. Used my Tim Holtz die to cut the layer under the red ric rac, then I ran the yellow paper through the cuttlebug using the heart embossing folder to give it a little texture.
Finished up by adding some black rhinestones. Card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Thanks for stopping by.

A new year, A new challenge

Hi everyone! TGIF!!! Welcome back to our Bellariffic Fridays!

Today's post will be a short one.  I am in a lot of pain with my sciatica.  It started wednesday morning, and it isn't any better today.  Have a hard time sitting for too long, hence the short post.

This weeks challenge is a sketch.  When I saw the sketch a couple of weeks ago, I had this image in mind to color up.  So today I have Izzie has a lettah.

I stamped Izzie onto bella's bestest paper and colored with pencils and gamsol.
I cut her with my oval s/binder die and the layered her onto a piece of the DP from the 6x6 pk of Basic Grey Eva cut with the scallop oval.
I liked this sketch although the only thing I didn't do was the sentiment.  Izzie comes with a sentiment - sealed with a kiss - but found it too big for the front of the  card, so I will put it in the inside.  I finished her off with some glitter on her dress.

If you would like to see what the other 'babes' did up for this challenge, hop on over to bloggabella and check it out.

Next weeks challenge is "free form".  Yep, so that means you can do whatever your little heart desires!  So lets see what you can do, then email it to Em by thursday night for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Have a great weekend everyone.

See you soon,

Hearty Plant

It seems like the whole blogging world has been focusing on Valentine cards over the last few weeks, so thought it was my time to showcase something.

I chose to color up a Stamping Bella image called Hearty Plant for Lulu.

I stamped the image onto some of Bella's bestest paper and colored it with my Caran d'Ache pencils.  I matted this onto some deep burgundy glossy paper.  The DP paper is Basic Grey -  Olivia. For the white heart borders I used my EK Success border punch.  The turquoise ribbon was gathered by pulling a thread from one end of the ribbon and pulling- it gathers up very nicely, then just wrapped the ends around to the back side and tape down. Finished if off with glitter and used a glaze pen on the tiny hearts.

Don't forget about the Bellariffic challenge this friday.  It's a sketch challenge, hope you can join us.  Here is the sketch:

Masculine Card

I often find masculine cards harder to make, I find them not has fun and interesting as making something with glitter, pretty colors and ribbons, but sometimes there is a need for a 'guys' card.

So looking through my bella binders I spotted Fat Scribble Tree, (which has never seen ink yet!) and thought hmmm possibly that would work.

I tried Linda's card making process, which you can read her step-by-step instructions here if you haven't already. So I followed as such - picked out my stamp, went through my 6x6 papers - I was looking for something kind of nature looking, so when I saw this first piece with the cute little owl sitting on a branch- I thought perfect - okay so no need to dig any further - otherwise I'm sure I would change my mind as I came across something else! I would worry about the layout later.

So, I started by stamping the tree in Versafine Sepia on some cream cardstock.  Use round s/binder dies to cut the tree out as well as the next layer.  Then used a scallop die for the cream again, and then some dark brown cut with Label die #3 for the final layer.  I left the circle die on the image after cutting and sponged some versamagic oasis green.

Then the layout, I didn't want to cover up the bottom left hand corner, so decided to keep the card plain and simple, and just went with what I did.  Finished off with a piece of ribbon at the top and 3 bella dots.

Phew, actually finished a card in pretty good time by following Linda's sugggestions.  Most times I pick my stamp then try to look for papers that would suit the image, now that takes me forever, because I have so many papers I just can't make up my mind.  And the layout as well, takes forever some times, but what I found helps, is I print off layouts when I come across them that I like, keep them in a binder, so I have some reference to go to.

Just a reminder that this friday Jan 14, is our first bellariffic challenge of 2011. Hope you get a chance to play along, if so, email your entry to Emily by thursday night.  Here is the sketch challenge for this week:

see you again soon,

Mavis in her KINI!

Today I have a cute card to share with you.
I introduce to you- Mavis in her KINI!  I have had her stamped off for quite a while but just never got around to coloring her up until last night.

Mavis was stamped on bella's bestest paper and colored with my Caran d'Arhe pencils.  I didn't have any paper in mind when I colored her up, figured if I used pinks and greens I should be safe.  Well I have to tell you, going through my papers, (and I have mounds) it was harder than I thought it would be.  But came across this paper and thought hmmm this will work.  Well it is a bit busy but went with it anyway. Added some glitter to Mavis's headband and the water.  Finished up with a yellow bow and a brad.

Also, the Bellariffic challenges start up again on Jan14/11.  We are starting off our challenges this year with a sketch by Kim Teasdale. If you would like to play along with us babes, email your card to Em by thursday night, for a chance to win some bella bucks.  Here is your sketch:

New Bella card

Well folks, this is my last day off for a while and I am enjoying every last minute!
Yes back to work for me tomorrow- I guess that could be a good thing as far as getting back into a daily routine- bad thing - not able to be crafty all day!

Today I finished up a new image from Stamping Bella called
rain-never-stopped-me-ABELLA.

As always, I stamped her off on bella's bestest paper and colored her up with my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol/oms.  Now I must confess, this is my second time coloring her, because the first time I had papers picked out and colored her at night, next morning I realized the colors were so off (mind you it did look good at night!), so scrapped that piece and re-colored her up.  I didn't stick with the original papers, I went to my Memory Box bucket and found papers from the Spearment collection which seemed to go very well with my colored image.  After cutting down the image to size, I sponged around the edges with versamagic wheat and then a bit of old paper distress ink. Layered her onto some bazzill papers and then onto the DP papers.  The scallop border along the left side was done with my EK Success border punch. Did some stitching all around the layers.  Finished her off with some glitter on the umbrella and 3 marble jade dots.

If your interested, here are the colors I used:

Umbrella and coat - Celadon Green, Slate Grey & a bit of Jade Green
Pants - French Grey 10%, 20%, 50%, bit of 90% for shading
Shoes - Dark Umber
Shading around image - Ginger root & Beige
Skin tones - used Copics - E000, E00, E01, E11

Another Candle!

Happy New Years Day everyone!

I have a fun card to share with you today.  I have colored up a digital image from Bugaboo Stamps.  If you follow Jeanie's blog (aka The Spotted Chick) you will see some amazing cards she has done using these images.

So today I colored up one of the images from Stella's Birthday. There are 7 images in this set, you can buy them as a set or individually. Sentiments also come with each image - bonus!

I colored Stella with my Copics.  Not a lot of shading done on her.  I then cut her out with my s/binder square die, then sponged some versamagic sea breeze while the die was in place. Did some stitching on all the layers as well. DP paper I used is by Bo Bunny.  Finished it off with some polka dot chiffon orange ribbon, glitter and some crystal effects on the candles.

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline
